Attended the pig racing – a good day out.

Rathmolyon Cultural Festival.
A taste of times past, is promised at the upcoming Rathmolyon Cultural Festival was held on Sept. 25th next. As well as a wonderful display of vintage machinery and equipment, the Festival also hosted a Vintage Village with traditional crafts, buttermaking, and stalls. There was plenty to entertain young people with athletics events, tag rugby, archery as well as karaoke. It was a really wet day. Enfield Macra made it a wetter day for their members..
Rathmolyon High Nellies
Over 130 people took part in the Inaugural Rathmolyon High Nelly Cycle held last Saturday 13th August which was organised by the recently formed High Nelly Club. Commencing in the village, the event took in a route encompassing approximately 15km and included a half way stopover at Paddy Lyon’s yard, where they were treated to tea and lovely home made bread. At the end of the cycle, participants were treated again to refreshments and a barbeque. The enjoyment continued with the launch of the Rathmolyon Cultural Festival to be held on September 25th next, and the crowd was entertained by wonderful live music from the well reno wned ‘Black Porter’ band. It was a fantastic way to get together as a community and have a wonderfully enjoyable evening with family and friends. It is hoped that this will be the first of many such events in Rathmolyon. More fun and enjoyment is guaranteed at the Cultural Festival event itself in September with entry at the gate only €5 for adults and children are free. Thanks to everyone who helped out at the event and made it such a great success.
The Rathmolyon Sewerage works are almost completed, the Engineer told the July 2011 area meeting of Meath County Council.
